If otitis media is not converted to chronic otitis media in a timely manner, it will develop towards otitis media with ulceration, and inflammation will start to damage bones. In the later period, the cholesteatoma type otitis media will be formed, which further destroys the bone, thus causing intracranial infection and endangering life.
